Idaho Drug Statistics Tell a Horrible Tale

If you ask around in the state of Idaho, some people will openly tell you how they feel about resident drug abuse. They would likely tell you that drugs come straight from the depths of hell, and is the devils handiwork. They might even tell you how the drug dealers that distribute these drugs are the devils servants sent to destroy the souls of the people who will allow it. Although, this would be just opinion or belief. The Idaho drug statistics facts are even more devastating to look at.

The state of Idaho has many drug threats that are major issues and concerns to law enforcement. Methamphetamine or (Meth) along with cocaine and cannabis are transported by Mexican drug trafficking groups from other areas in the country and are the largest area of concern for the state. Of the 2 different meth types, crystal meth is becoming the more popular of the two.

Marijuana is also present in the state of Idaho. Because the state of Idaho has a small northern border that touches Canada, there are many reports of cannabis seizures in this area. Smugglers coming from Canada, bring the cannabis into the U.S. through the state of Idaho. Even still, this is not the only way that cannabis finds its way into the residents pockets. Huge outdoor cannabis cultivation sites found in national forests along the border with Canada are managed by Mexican drug cartels in Idaho. The cannabis is sold in wholesale amounts to the local distributors who then sell the cannabis in small amounts to the resident cannabis users. This drug deal typically takes place in a private residence rather than on the street.

The presence of cocaine in Idaho is small but still there. Luckily, the more addictive, destructive form of cocaine known as crack, is not a major issue in the state. There are some reports of cocaine being transported into the state by Mexican drug trafficking groups however, some is also produced within the state limits.

Some other drugs that are adding to the Idaho drug statistics include ecstasy and other various night club drugs commonly used at raves or underground parties. These drugs are seen mostly with the younger generations and are trafficked mostly by Asian traffickers who bring the drugs in from Canada.

These statistics do not even tell the full story though. They simply speak of the presence of drugs in Idaho but, how does the presence of these drugs affect the residents? One good way to tell this is by looking at the numbers for drug treatment admissions in Idaho. For instance during a period of just 13 years starting with 1992 and ending in 2005, the total number of meth treatment admissions compared to all drug admissions rose from 8% to 53%. These numbers alone are enough to scare anybody who doesnt use the drug and an eye opener for those that do.

According to the Idaho drug statistics report on marijuana use in Idaho, the treatment admissions for this drug come in second place next to meth. Additionally, 60% of all drug arrests in the state are directly linked to marijuana. Sad but true though, a survey to capture residents opinions was taken and the results were that less than 40% of the people living in the state thought of marijuana use as being risky if used over one time during 30 days. The rest of the Sixty something percent of the population felt that it was ok to smoke marijuana. Perhaps this is the reason that so many residents in Idaho wind up with addictions to marijuana.

With resident addictions, there is need for drug rehab treatment centers. Although there are many centers for drug abuse located in the state of Idaho, many people do not realize that they are there. Or may be they are too embarrassed to admit they have a drug addiction let alone admit themselves to a drug rehab center. Even the ones that do seek help and admit themselves voluntarily though, have low rates of success. This is due to the lack of commitment by the drug user. It doesnt really matter how many times someone goes to a drug treatment center, if there is no commitment to quitting, the drug will simply continue to resurface and reign. Although, a complete opposite of what the residents opinion of drugs might be, if asked about the drug treatment centers they would likely answer that they are heavenly places and the staff who work there are angels sent from God.

Drug treatment centers in Idaho are staffed with the most certified members of the substance abuse field. They know what they are doing when it comes to drug addiction and they do their jobs very well.

The professionals working in an Idaho drug rehab center come from all walks of life. Some of the staff found working in a drug rehab center in Idaho are people of personal experience. They know how to deal with a drug user because they once were drug users themselves. This helps new members of the center to relate better knowing that someone has gone through what they are fixing to go through. This is just one of the ways that drug users get support while in the drug treatment center though. Support comes in the form of counselors, trained substance abuse doctors and other drug users going through the motions to quit. Support after all, is one of the biggest keys to getting off the drugs successfully.

If you are a drug user or you know someone that is, you should not feel bad. There are millions of people in the world that are suffering the same fate as you. You should know though that there are people that care and want to help. People, that are willing to devote their time and energy to seeing that you or your loved one gets clean from the drugs. Do not hesitate to find out where your local drug treatment centers are located, it might just be the best choice you will ever make.
