Drug Abuse and Addiction in West Virginia

Drug abuse and addiction is all over the place. There is no way to put an end to this on-going drug war. West Virginia mostly rural and surrounded by mountains but not prejudice to the drug scene with Meth, marijuana, crack and heroin all being popular drugs. 

Cocaine – Widely available in most cities and preferred users are among low to middle income individuals but is not prejudice to any ethnic.

Heroin is both very low in demand and availability it is not prominent and is extremey limited throughout the state. 

Meth - the production of clandestine labs are on the increase in West Virginia with a major distribution in the Shenandoah Valley Region.   

Club Drugs, such as Ecstasy and MDMA are popular among college students in college towns and at rave parties. There has been a significant increase in club drugs being imported into West Virginia because of the growing college scene.

Marijuana is easily available and most widely used drug with cultivation both locally and imported makes West Virginia one of the top ten states for marijuana eradication.
