Drug abuse and addiction in Texas

Drug abuse and addiction is increasing every single day in this country. There is no way to put a stop to this on going drug war. Residents of Texas are no exception to this horrible statistic.  Boarding Mexico, Texas has a huge drug problem and it seems impossible to stop it.

Cocaine is commonly found in Texas, it is transported in from Mexico and then distributed throughout the country. Cocaine and crack cocaine is most commonly found in larger cities of Texas, and is easily accessible.

Heroin is also very common throughout the state. Mexican black tar and Mexican brown tar tend to serve the highest threat of heroin abuse throughout the state. There has also been an increase in accessibility of heroin from Colombian and Southwest Asian heroin in Texas. 

Methamphetamine is also readily available in Texas. With clandestine meth labs producing small amounts and high amounts being brought in from Mexico meth is a huge problem to the citizens of Texas. Meth labs in Texas are most commonly found in smaller rural towns.

Club Drugs are also available mainly in the major cities of Texas. The most commonly abused club drugs in the state are MDMA (ecstasy), LSD, Ketamine, and GHB.  These drugs are being abused by many college students at raves, nightclubs, and on college campuses.

Marijuana is also readily available throughout the state, it is the most abused drug in the state of Texas. Most of the marijuana in Texas is brought in from Mexico.
