Tennessee is no exception to this drug war. To put an end to this drug problem law enforcement like DEA, local police, and other drug agencies are working together to end this war. Cocaine is the primary drug of choice in the state of Tennessee. Crack cocaine is becoming more and more popular. Many of the violent crimes in the state are associated with the abuse of cocaine. Heroin is very limited in the state of Tennessee. Instead of heroin many are diverting pharmaceutical drugs such as Percocet and Oxycodone, which have similar effects. Meth is also another great problem to citizens of the state. Local manufacturing of meth is becoming more popular with the clandestine meth labs in the rural areas of the state. Club Drugs are also becoming more and more popular in the state. With the rave and nightclub scene growing in the state problems with MDMA (Ecstasy), LSD, and GHB are also becoming more and more popular. Club drugs are most commonly abused by younger Americans in nightclubs, and raves. Marijuana still poses a great threat to Tennessee, locally grown marijuana has become a crash crop in Tennessee. Mostly abused by younger to middle aged American citizens. |
